Ministry description

Gospel Youth Ministry is the Youth Ministry at the Gospel Church which includes students who are 7th grade to 12th  grade. In our ministry, we want to help our students to become intimate with God, immersed in HIs Word and be involved with Him in what He is doing in the world.

1. Our purpose - The purpose of Gospel Youth is to serve the students of Gospel Church, of whom many are the children of adult members of thechurch. Our goal is to reach every youth that comes under the Gospel Youth Ministry with the gospel of Jesus Christ, provide discipleship for every youth members, and provide leadership training for the youth leaders to serve.

2.  Our Vision - The vision of the Gospel Youth is to learn from the first generation parents and build upon their vision to "Conquest the Promised Land." that is the harvest field of the Lord. Just as Moses commissioned Joshua and Caleb to lead the second generation Israelities into the promised land, we have the responsibility to lead the second generation Korean-Americans into the "harvest field". We hope that as a result of our ministry with the youth, many Gideons, Deborahs, Samsons, Jophthahs. Samuels, Davids, Solomons, Daniels and Elijahs will rise to serve in the 21st century.

3. Our target - The target groups for the Gospel Youth is basically 3-fold: core group, committed group and contact group. We do not want to limit our ministry audience only to the Korean-Americans, but our promary focus will be those children of Gospel church and other youth who come to the Gospel church. We welcome and non-Korean including Asisan-American, Afro-Americans, and Hispanic-Americans to join the ministry, but our intentional target group will be the children of Gospel church.

The basic strategy of Gospel Youth Ministry is to move students from lower level of commitment and maturiry to a greater level of commitment and maturity. The contact group consists of people that are both non-Christians and Christians, and associated with our youth group through friendship, church activities, and youth events. Through our worship, our programs, and friendship network, we hope to reach these "unchurched" students with the gospel. If they are "churchless", we hope to invite them to join our youth group membership. Once they become members of our youth grouop, they become our committed group consisting of both mature and immature Chistians. Out of this group, many students may become core group consisting of student leaders, various committee members and servants groups.
